Can the borough of Brooklyn afford a community of residential buildings and commercial establishments or would the Atlantic Yards site be better used as a train station? My project addresses this question through studies and maps envisioning Atlantic Yards as a functioning railroad. I would like to see the yard become an established and well developed new train yard, which would contribute to President Barack Obama’s plan for a new and more innovative rail system that would stretch across the country, a new transportation frontier for the United States.
